This drawing took over a year to create alongside having a young family, completing commissions and personalised orders. I have enjoyed producing a piece of this scale over a longer length of time. It provided a balance to my everyday life which is busy and sometimes chaotic. I sought out moments of quiet to enjoy producing this work to give me calm whenever I could. It was my sanctuary. The drawing is made from sections collaged together. It is easier to look after a few pieces of a manageable size paper rather than one larger piece. The drawn areas are carefully cut out and arranged on the flat coloured area. I chose this natural ochre colour because of its depth, richness and warmth to ground and contrast the intricate drawing. A sunflower could only have a yellow colour which they are innately associated with. Prints will be available soon. Join my mailing list to hear about them when they are ready
