LaleGuralp

Lâle trained as a printed textile designer at Chelsea College of Art and Design, before going on to work with Sir Terence Conran, where she developed a passion for quality materials, and for creating work that is both beautiful and affordable. As an artist, she produces detailed prints inspired by the natural world, personalised pictures for children and takes commissions.

Her favourite medium to work with is pencil on paper. '“They are simple tools, but they let me capture a huge amount of detail. I love adding colour with gouache paints that have wonderfully vibrant pigments and a chalky finish.”

“I always enjoy working with a client to create a commission – it is exciting to be creating something truly unique and that they will cherish.”

“I consider the environment when producing my pictures by sourcing materials from responsible local suppliers where I can. All of my packaging is made of paper. It is easily recycled and some has been recycled already.”

Suppliers

St Cuthbert’s Mill - One of the last paper mills left in the UK. They make their paper in a way that ensures it does not harm the environment. My giclee prints are done on paper made from 100% cotton which is the waste product of the fashion industry. More about paper production and the environmental impacts can be read here.

Green & Stone - My local and the best art shop where I get my paints, brushes and pencils.

My packaging is made from paper and can be recycled. Some has been recycled already. If there is any plastic packaging with your order, it is to ensure your item arrives safely and it will have been used previously.
